Kimono designer JOTARO SAITO and VRoid Studio's new dress-up feature have teamed up again to bring you a stunning 3D avatar kimono for VRChat, "Browsing Stripe", available on BOOTH starting Wednesday, July 16th, at 6:00 pm JST!

This outfit utilizes the XWear format, allowing seamless dressing on any avatar.

This yukata features custom-made textures created specifically for this release. Real yukata fabric was scanned to reproduce the fine patterns and the way the material reacts to light, delivering a highly realistic look, even in VR.

The color variations include three designs replicating JOTARO SAITO's original works, as well as seven exclusive colors tailored for VR. The fresh, vibrant color palette makes it easy to coordinate with a wide range of avatars and virtual worlds.

The 3D model uses real kimono patterns as inspiration, and every step—from fabric cutting to stitching—has been carefully designed to deliver exceptional realism. To enhance its charm, the set includes two styles of obi (taiko musubi and bunko musubi), which faithfully reproduce traditional Japanese aesthetics in VR.

About kimono designer JOTARO SAITO

Born in Kyoto, JOTARO SAITO hails from a prestigious family of textile artists, including his grandfather, the late Saizaburo Saito, and his father, contemporary kimono designer Sansai Saito. Saito debuted as the youngest kimono designer at 27 and has since dedicated his career to reinventing kimono as modern fashion.

Saito has been widely featured in TV, magazines, and other media and is recognized as one of Japan’s leading kimono designers and textile artists. Advocating for "the evolution of tradition" and a lifestyle that embraces Japanese aesthetics, he extends his talents to product and interior design.

XWear refers to both the name of VRoid Studio's new dress-up feature and the data format for outfits and accessories.

With XWear, you can easily dress both VRoid base models and avatars for VRChat purchased on BOOTH with different outfits and accessories.

Dressed-up avatars can be uploaded to VRChat or exported as VRM files for use in other apps.

In addition, you can easily convert VRChat outfits and accessories purchased on BOOTH to the XWear format using the free XWear Package tool. You can also use XWear to dress up avatars with your own creations or sell your custom outfits and accessories in XWear format on BOOTH.
